Many first time track riders can be overwhelmed by the bike prep required for a track day.
ONE TRACK MIND makes this process MUCH easier. We offer complimentary tech inspection prior to the start of each of our track days and a full list (below) detailing everything that should be considered. We have provided a lot of information, but don’t let that intimidate you.
The work required for prepping a bike can be done by anyone, regardless of age or experience. If you do get stuck or have a question – just contact us directly; we’re here to help!
Get your wheels ready
Good Working Order - This means your bike is in good mechanical condition with no fluid leaks, no loose bolts, no loose parts, and oil drain plug tight. One thing that needs to be stressed is that your bike CANNOT be leaking any fluids as any kind of fluid on the track can pose a hazard to other riders.
Coolant - Currently Race City Speedway does not require riders to swap out Glycol based coolant for Water or Water/Water Wetter.
Lights - Headlight must be taped over completely. Mirrors, signals (front and rear) and brake light should be taped over or removed if possible.
Tires - Tires should be in good condition with sufficient tread left. Tire pressures vary by manufacturer so please ask one of our instructors for the correct pressure to run your tires at while on the track.
Controls - All levers and controls should be in good working condition with no excessive play or controls that "stick". Our instructors are available to help you if you have any concerns.
If you are unsure about any aspect of your riding gear, please see one of our staff members at the track who will be happy to inspect your equipment to ensure you are safe to ride at the track.
